BerryBon – dark chocolate on the outside, sunshine on the inside.

The BerryBon is silky dark chocolate on the outside, and all kinds of dark berry fruits rich in antioxidants on the inside. It has blackcurrant, blackberry, elderberry, rowan berry, strawberry and even rosehips. We add to this the natural sweetness of the date, the smoothness of the cocoa butter and the immune strengthening beta-glucan, a few pinches of cinnamon and curcuma. And just to make it even more awesome we smuggled in a little bit of sunshine – each bonbon has added vitamin D3!

+Vitamin D3

Vitamin D3 is naturally produced in our bodies when we are exposed to sunshine. It is crucial for the construction and renewal of our skeletal system. But in the less than sunny periods our bodies can experience vitamin D3 deficiency. And that’s exactly when BerryBon can act as a super tasty and valuable source of vitamin D3, stepping in as substitute sunshine – but of course a little bit of extra vitamin doesn’t hurt in the summer either.

What makes it tasty, fair and healthy?

The chocolate
The coating of BerryBon is made of excellent quality 71.5% Bio Fair Trade dark chocolate that is naturally rich in vitamins and trace elements. One of the components of chocolate is Theobroma, often called the happiness serum since it stimulates endorphin, the hormone responsible for happiness. 


Bio and Fair Trade qualifications
Having the ‘Bio’ qualification means that at the growing area of the cocoa the farmers cannot use harmful pesticides, and there are no preservatives used even while the cocoa beans are transported. An independent organization makes sure that members adhere to these rules.
Being Fair Trade means that the farmers who grow the cocoa beans we use are fairly compensated by the traders and chocolate makers. This means the farmers don’t have to sell their land or use child labor to be profitable. These plantations are also cultivated more gently that allows for better quality crops to grow. By choosing to purchase Fair Trade products you contribute to the living qualities of farmers in third world countries while helping to preserve excellent quality cocoa plantations.

The fruits
While creating the filling for BerryBon we only used fruits that were processed gently – allowing them to keep their natural qualities. The filling is made from the essence of blackcurrant, blackberry, elderberry, rowan berry, strawberry and even rosehips. These berries have a great amount of purple, blue, red and yellow colorings, the so-called flavonoids that are known for their antioxidant health benefits. 


Sweet taste
We sweetened the fruit filling with dates to substitute sugar in a natural way.

Beta-glucan is a natural polysaccharide. It can be found in the cell walls of plants, fungi and bacteria. It is primarily used to strengthen and stimulate the immune system.

Recommended Daily Intake

We know and experience that from quality chocolate, even smaller amounts suffice. And since BerryBon also has added vitamin D3, we have set the recommended daily intake at 1 piece for children, and 2 for adults.

In depth:
The WHO has set the upper limit of the safe daily vitamin D3 intake at 4000 IU (International Unit). Our bonbons contain 540 IU of vitamin D3 – each, so an entire box contains 4860 IU.
